Hi all,

Are there any spoon carvers out there? Would be good to connect, share info etc.

I’ve only been carving for a year / 18 mths but have definitely got the bug.

I tried my hand at it even built a mule but I'm easily distracted and have too many interests, but did enjoy it and will get back to it

Most indispensable tool for spoon carving is any form of medium sweep gouge, straight will do just fine - something around a 12mm No 8 works well. A spoon-bend or long-bend gouge is marginally more useful but not as much difference as you might think
