Morning folks,

Can anyone advise me on the DeWalt DC100 18v Combi-Drill please? Screwfix are offering them at £89.99 (£90).

Are they beefy enough to take the strain of these big fluted augers and have they got 'lock-on' variable speed? I.e. Are they worth the bother?

I am obliged

Thanks in anticipation

John :)

I don't know about the DC100 but I have bought the Li Lion 18v at half price from them as I have other 18v dewalt units and the batteries will retrofit,
The drill will pull a 32mm auger bit through a standard joist without problem at slowest speed,
The cost of an 18v LiLion battery and charger is near £250 so at £149 for the kit is a bargain IMHO

Cheers Nigel

Thanks Nigel..

Sounds promising. I need a drill that has variable speed, with a 'trigger' lock.
I have a few of the so-called power-drill augers, but my drills, although variable speed, don't have any lock. So, one extra ounce of squeeze is a woo-hoo moment!

Thanks again. I will pay them a visit and check if I can see one of these drills first.

Regards
John
