Another lesson learned

Thought I would attempt a hollow form using my homemade hollowing tool, on my lump of walnut.
This is my attempt at a hollowing tool.

Not very good at this yet, am I. Went a bit far, but I was happy with the way the tool was cutting.

So I ended up with this. I now love turning walnut.

Now if you'd set out to make that lovely looking piece in the first place, it would never have meant as much as a finished product and you would never have learnt the lesson you no doubt did.
