An inexpensive solution would be the Scheppach HA1000 (screwfix £119) which is the same in performance to the Axminster version but cheaper, used with a cyclone up front discharging into a separate bucket with 100mm hose connections. Works really well. I use a Scheppach with my Charnwood W650 saw. For hand tools, the Trend T35A Class M isn't bad but their cheaper ones work well too. On the cheap you can get away for hand tools with any wet & dry vac with at least 1KW of power using the same cartridge filter of the Scheppach and simply place a filter bag over the cartridge filter to get your 0.5 micron filter rating but the outside of the bag needs briushing fairly regularly.
