A TV Licence reminder....
An appeal for cash for some donkey sanctuary....
An appeal for cash from the Sally Army....
An appeal to the "good friend that you are" from a charity outfit I've never heard of....
An appeal to support the Gurkha Rifles...
An updated price list from a take-away I've never used....
An appeal from Operation Smile, using my full name, including my middle one.
And a Christmas card from "Don and Joan" to the previous occupant here, who flew to Canada over 22 years ago.

Oh...and a card reminder from the vet, to book our Lab's annual booster ***. Apparently they've tried texting me to no avail, which is hardly surprising as I don't have a 'phone.

Thankfully we only get two postal deliveries in an average week...

Solution...
  • Forward the donkey sanctuary appeal to the take-away; they might appreciate the offer of cheap meat
  • Post the Operation Smile appeal to the "friend" charity; they'll like the smile
  • Send the Gurka Rifiles to the Salvation Army; they could do with the weapons
  • Send the TV license reminder to Don and Joan, telling them they owe 22 years of back-dated payments
Can't help you with the vet though, sorry.

Get a booster at same time as the dog, save waiting for the GP to do it…..

We get a few each year for Georgi and Elsie (14 years since they moved out), we don't get many Xmas cards so the go on the mantlepiece anyhow and make us feel more popular than we are!

They've been writing to me for years.

They appear to go in a circle, increasingly threatening and then resetting and starting over.

I've considered sending them a bill for disposing of this unwanted clutter in my hallway.

I must live a very sheltered life, I don't get any of these sort of things, I think if may be to do with not accepting any cookies on any web site, data selling being what it is on the web.

I get a Christmas card every year from a choral society in Guildford for a previous occupant. I used to send them back marked 'No longer at this address' but they still arrive every year. Actually, in this time of high postage costs and many people giving up posting them, I quite look forward to receiving it. I've been here, in Bournemouth, for 24 years.

That's OK if you're exempt, I suppose.

Otherwise it's a bit like being an uninsured driver because you've never had an accident.

Postal strike so the mail box is empty. 😊

All we usually get in a week are a copy of the local newspaper, a few store flyers, a fast food coupon sheet or two and the utility and credit card bills. Occasionally a package that SWMBO bought.

I get on really well with one of our delivery drivers who at least has a sense of humour - at least it's better than mine over the rabid spending prowess of my wife.

Comments such as "there's a fair bit of sh*te today, mate" or, "this is a mistake, it's got your name on it" or "I'm thinking of hiring a co-driver for your deliveries" help pass the time as I mock glower at him but his best was when he crossed my Christian name out and wrote my wife's on instead, just to wind me up.
