I've been setting up a workshop in my garage and really been getting in to some woodworking. Now I have the opportunity of moving to America with work for a few years. I have found a few woodworking forums over there but has anyone any suggestions as to which are the best ones to get involved with?

Thanks
Nat

Take a look at Taunton's Knots (I believe you have to register to view/post, but I'm not 100% certain of that) and SawmillCreek to start with. There are plenty of others, but they're a good starting point

Thanks for the tips guys,

I've had a good look and seem to be spending a lot of time on the excellent www.sawmillcreek.org although I haven't got around to registering yet.

There are a couple of Brits contributing regularly on there; a bloke fom Lancashire who's always lecturing the Yanks on machinery and shop safety, and a pro guy from Manchester. I wonder why they spend their time on an American forum instead of their own excellent one here.

After all that though, it looks like the job move may be off. Her ladyship is going cold on the idea - she doesn't like the thought of not seeing her mother for months on end!

So it looks as though I may be sticking around here a while longer as my woodworking progresses - I hope to get to know more of you.

Yeah it must be - there can't be two of them in the UK let alone in Lancs

I don't believe it, I have only posted 3 times since returning and one of them has been exterminated. It was a jokey post
Surely this is victimization, if I grovel some more and apologise for the fat guy avatar again would that help.
