Well guys I am almost back in the land of the living again. After everything that has happened recently I ended up with a bout of Pleurisy! I am almost over this now but have been told to rest for a couple of weeks. Got to admit I am sick of watching the same programs on the TV though. My appetite is returning slowly and I am feeling like I have a bit more energy now. It transpires that all of my problems were from a virus I caught well over a month ago now. All of the symptoms seem to be abating now and although I am still coughing with a little pain I am on the mend. I have also taken this oppertunity to give up smoking with the Doctors advice and haven't touched one for one full week now! :D I am using the patches daily and so far am finding it easy. (Hope I heven't spoken too soon) Of course my work has suffered and I have been idle for a while now hence no postings but I hope to be back in the shop in due course. Just thought I would keep you posted.

Hey Mailee, I thought you'd been a bit quiet!
Viruses are a "naughty boy". I started coughing 9-and-a-half weeks ago and I've now gone 2 consecutive days without Pholcodine. I stop for a day and then start coughing again. It wears me out.

I just hope you built this in to your business model when you decided to do woody stuff full-time! :)

Dry cough, not producing any phlegm?

Mostly. Just the occasional unpleasant volume... I'd rather not be too explicit... But it really is knackering. I just don't understand it. I was fine before I went to Mexico on holiday.
Joke.

Glad to hear you are on the mend, Mailee.
I have had pleurisy and it is not at all nice so I know how you must have been feeling.
Look after yourself. You will get there.
Cheers,

SF

Forget the cough medicine. Put your head over a bowl of steam each night. I had a cough for weeks. The pharmacist lost a sale by telling me to steam my head instead of using cough medicine. Cough went within a week. It's all I've done ever since - always works.

Glad to hear you are on the mend Alan and its good to hear that you are trying to stop the old weed, I stopped smoking 21 Months ago and I gotta be honest, it was flippin' hard but well worth sticking it out, just to let you know it starts to get better aftewr a couple of Months and almost all the cravings dissapear after a year, just remember, if you have a crafty *** then you go back to square one and start all over again.

Good luck mate

Bugger - I thought we'd got rid of you!

From what I remember you hadn't actually left your job with the car firm yet; if so that's a great piece of timing, Alan! Let them pay you while you get better - then tell'em to fook right off!

Good luck with the smoking. It really is a nasty pernicious habit cynically played by the tobacco companies who depend for their profits on enslaving and ultimately killing their customers. They then have to persue new ones...

As you can tell, since becoming nicotine free myself I've become a total anti-smoking Nazi!

Watch the weight though. You'll balloon up to ten stone in no time!

Cheers
Brad

PS Will we be seeing you at Jonny D's bash? It can't be that far from Grimsby - that is in Lincolnshire, isn't it?

 You're not wrong there, I put on 1 1/2 stone in a year, thankfully I have lost it now but had to give up sugar

Your are another skinny b*&&er who could do with a bit of meat on you.

Pleased to hear you have turned a corner Alan - your catalogue of misfortunes were beginning to rival Wizer's

Thanks guys. I do hope I can put on a bit of weight, I could do with it. So far I have had no problem with the **** and the patches seem to be working I am glad to say. I do hope to make it to Johnny's bash too if I can, it is my birthday on the 22nd Aug so will see if I can slip away for it. Yes Brad at the moment I am still employed and doing the woodwork part time so it helps. Will still have a lean month from the government sick pay though, pull in the horns again I guess.
