I've not posted a project on here for ages, so I thought I'd give you a look at the last thing I've been up to. This one has appeared on WWUK, but for those who don't read there, here it is;
Constructed from MRMDF and Tulipwood, the unit is designed to loosely match the 100yr old original in the other alcove.
Heres a few pics from the making stage;
I did all the mitres this time BEFORE the bead on the face frame, using a mortar groove cutter, which turns out to be much easier.
I even managed to get the face frame to line up with the shelves.
Next step is joining the sections with dominos and then machining on the bead.
Face frames all glued up
Doors made, using the Wealden door set again. Works really well, although I can see why the guys who make lots of doors leave a table set up, as there's quite a bit of fiddling to get it perfect.
This is the setup for the scribe cut, using a sled to keep the rail at 90 degrees.
spraying the first coat of primer
Everything had 2 coats of Morrells WB primer, in this warm weather it's drying really quick and I'm getting a good finish. Sands up really well, I'm loving the Ceros which is perfect for this type of job.
All ready to start top coating; I decided to have a go at a video of me spraying;

And thats it, finished
thanks for looking
