Hi all

My wife does a range of glass work and is interested in using a product type called an alcohol dye as part of her work. I have loads of spirit stain and while I know we could just try, does anyone know the difference between these two products?

Thanks

Simon

i always thought that they were the same. spirit = methylated spirits, or alcohol = ethanol, both as opposed to water or oil based stains.

I think the stuff for glass work is called Alcohol Ink which is transparent. You could try spirit wood stain but I don't know if it's transparent?
