Miles away - totally impractical...
For those of you who manage their accounts on a computer Personal Accountz is well worth consideration in my opinion. Excellent piece of software, borne out of simple principles, with absolutely first class support (which is free). There's a business version too: http://www.startuptube.co.uk/directory/accounting/accountz/accountzdotcom.html

No affiliation, just overwhelmingly impressed with the software and company (been using it for over two years now).

And for those that don't use windows (I'm led to believe it will run on Windows with a bit of work) take a look at ledgerSMB - knocks spots off everything else I've ever used. Oh, and did I mention it's free :)

Personal Accountz works on all platforms and the same file can be read across platforms too (i.e. you use Windows to create a file and sent it to your accountant who uses Linux - no problem).

I did say I believe it will work. As I don't use windows I've no idea though.
I'd imagine there is some software capable of gunzipping on windows but I don't know for sure.
