AA Route Planner

I use the AA Route Planner for looking up places to visit but every time I use it I have to put in my post code, is there a way it can remember it.
Or am I just lazy ?

If you use Firefox then you can train Sxipper to form fill for you. All manner of stuff (inc post codes).

Viamichelin has a similar facility and it remembers the post codes.

So does Google maps. Once set it starts at our location.

In the 'old days' I used to use Autoroute, but now find the online options useful. For actual driving I have an old TomTom 700 that still soldiers on and reduces the stress of driving caused by trying to find my way around.

If you have an account at eBay, whenever you look up an item you are interested in, it tells you in the top right corner how far the item is located from your postcode (includes your postcode of course) .

When I use AA RP, as soon as I type in the first letter of my code I am presented with options, based on what I entered before.

But I think I know my Post Code! :wink:

I suspect the Ebay distance is "as the crow flies", as it in reality bears no relationship to the road distance. Something i was looking at recently - Ebay 75 miles; road 109 miles.

Reg,

Windows has a facility to "remember" characters typed at the keyboard - so if, for example, you type the first letter of your post code Windows will offer you items beginning with that letter that you have previously typed (probably including your post code!).

However, IMHO, not all web sites allow this - from my very brief experience it would seem that AA does not, but RAC routeplanner does. So, use RAC.

I was stationed up there when that bridge was being built. Fascinating procedure to watch, although it's rusting away already I hear!
