Look what I collected from the ParcelFarce depot this morning. Two of Mike Wenzloff's beautiful saws 8) 8)

Wenzloffs-3.jpg

One is a rip cut for dovetails and the other cross cut, both the same size.

Mike used a really stunning piece of figured Bubinga for the handles. They are so silky smooth and comfortable. Here's one

And here's the other

I knew they'd be good because I saw the ones he made for Alf and Phil Edwards, but these are so beautifully made that they've left me almost speechless.

It's been a long wait but now that I have them it's been worth it. Mike is a great person to deal with and he really does go out of his way to make you a saw just how you want it. These have certainly exceeded my expectations.

Thanks Mike

Cheers

Paul - can't see the pics at the mo' (at work) but I'm sure they look pretty droolworthy \:D/ - Rob

Very nice.

I've been thinking of investing (and I use the term literally!) in a couple of decent hand saws - at the moment I use hardpoint saws.

Let us know how you get on with them (if you ever take them to timber).

Cheers

Karl

He's really got that CNC handle making machine working nicely

If it's not to rude to ask, how long did you have to wait for those two beauties to arrive?

Seems the rumours were true!

Nice saws Paul - wish I had placed that order way back when I first talked to Mr W about it now. That's a lesson for me eh!

Cheers Mike

Paul, so the long wait is over, they look stunning, I will have to have you over for lunch so I can have a close up.

I'm sure you had a long wait for the twins to arrive, but it looks well worth it. :D

From what I have read elsewhere their performance should be as impressive as their appearance - be interesting to hear how you get on.

Ed

NB - twins can be a handful, hope they don't get you up in the night too many times

My order got caught up in all the problems Mike had when his computer system went down and he lost all his records, so how long I waited would probably not be a fair indication of the current waiting time.

Suffice to say that I waited a very long time - but I would do it again :D Mike is a great bloke to deal with, is passionate about what he does and produces saws like nobody else.

Cheers

Lovely saws Paul - enjoy.

I bought a twin leather case from Tilgear (£5.95) to keep mine safe.

Sadly for potential buyers MikeW has a back order of 4k saws at the moment, though he is trying to improve production by taking on his part-time staff full time and he has moved to larger premises!

Well I am hoping they might make a trip to Sudbury in a couple months time, just need to fix the date.

Paul, nice pair, I remember Phils saw when we were at his Bash, very nice, fits the hand so well.
