I have been busy fitting doors, fitting loft ladders and boarding a loft but in between I have been in and out of the workshop. I did manage to get some work done on my other jobs. I got the boiler cabinet finished ready for fitting.

I also got a door and frame built for an alcove.

I started another set of softwood gates yesterday afternoon and got them ready for fitting the panels.

I cut the panels to size before giving them a coat of preservative.

Should get these finished tomorrow. :D

You have been busy.........but, take it from me......retirement is better !!

Nice work.

Got these finished today ready for fitting. Customer wanted me to paint them with her own coloured preservative so I did. :D

Will get them fitted next week when the gales have died down.

Those gates look lovely. Did you pint the tongues before putting them together?

I have just finished fitting the units today and as promised here are some shots of them in place. First up was the Boiler cabinet.

The corner unit went into the bathroom. The lower cupboard is removable to allow access to the bath fittings.

I also built this door and frame for an alcove on the landing.

I also made three shaker style doors for an electricity cupboard in the dinning room and a new trap door for the loft but forgot to get any shots of these.
While I was there she also got me to hang a door in one of the bedrooms and also got me to measure up for another possible wardrobe job in another bedroom. :D

Nice work Alan, small point for you, have boxed dozens of boilers in on new build houses just using a wall cupboard that matched the rest of the kitchen. The advantage I had was that this was done at the time of building and the cupboard was supplied as part of the kitchen. Right, this may seem like I'm waffling a bit bu bear with me I'm getting there. The other advantage I had was that the manufacturers literature for the boiler was on the windowsill and the plumber wasn't very far away. So, every plumber and all the manufacturers bumf said that when enclosing the boiler into a cupboard the bottom of the cupboard and the top of the cupboard must be left open or very heavily vented. Apparently the boiler needs air all around it or it can overheat and lock out.
Just a point of interest for you mate.
Cheers, Neil

Thanks Neil. It doesn't show in the photo but the top is almost non existent as it has a large hole and vent holes in and the bottom has a large cut out to allow an air flow and room for the pipes.

Thought you probably had it covered, or not, as is the case.
