In November the wife went into hospital for a hip replacement operation so I thought I would keep myself busy turning a few odds and ends.

Started off with this piece (I bought a sack of firewood from B&Q because it had some nice pieces of Silver Birch in it) and did this natural edged bowl.
roughly 6inch x 4inch

Next I tried an 8inch pine bowl (Not from B&Q)

The wife was home now so I made her these two Laburnum bits as a welcome home present.

The Bowl is 7inch wide x 5inch high

The Vase is 4inch wide x 8inch high

Hope you liked them

I like the last urn one best its a cracking form to work with. Isn't wood always interesting to work with and look at?
I hope your wife recover's soon. My mum is to have the same thing done very imminent, the bioninic mum

Nicely done, Laburnum and Yew also I like, for the colour contrasts that can be obtained.

All nice stuff - one of the best looking pieces of pine I've seen :D
Makes it look like a nice timber

Nicely turned Phil!

Who says you can't get decent timber from B+Q??? However, it is slightly ironic that most of the timber they sell is rubbish, but the stuff they sell as firewood actually had some decent stuff in it! :D
