A display cabinet

I have been asked to make a display cabinet for a national charitable organisation
A cup has been awarded to a local branch and the secretary has asked me if I would make a small display cabinet for a duplicate cup which will remain in the local area at the end of the year.

I have seen the duplicate cup and it fits in at the moment a cardboard packing box as per dimensions below.

The cabinet will be fixed to a wall and need a glass front (suggest door).

Any ideas welcome and links to a good looking design capable of being made in a hobbyists workshop appreciated.

Edit, a brass printed plaque will need to be attached to the front, I would suggest the measure of this will be around 4" wide xx 1" deep

The item being made will be on a non commercial basis and freely given.

As its quite small I would think about having the sides in glass as well and maybe even the top. If you had solid sides and a glazed door it going to be very dark inside.

They are not hard to make with a few rebated strips of wood or you could just run a thin groove for the glass to fit into, 3mm or even picture glass would do at that size.

This case is about the same on plan but 300mm tall and could be made with a solid back for wall mounting. A larger example here but the same construction could be used, I think the carcase was 15 or 18mm MFC and a 25x25 corner post, so if you halved everything it would be about the size you need.

Thanks Jason, I am now having to wait because a plaque is to be made and its measurements will have some bearing on the design.

Still looking for more ideas, I am suprised it is not going into a large cup cabinet, perhaps I ought to go to the venue and survey the location.
