My first wooden plane. Die is ash, sole is ebony. Gonna have to rejigger this, I c**ked up on the bedding angle - it turned out too shallow.
And... a marking gauge made outa lace wood. Incase you get to wondering about that slot... I managed to snap off the blade ( from old old hacksaw ) while I was attempting to fit it.. the nail will do for now
Here's it's sister (yew I think :? ) , not quite finished yet...
