I am Back from my Irish adventure

And what a great time I had , only regret was it did not last long enough

arrived in Ireland 6.30am , 1 hour drive to Boysie39 and arrived to a full English prepared by the lovely Claire =D>

Went to David Comerfords workshop to collect the VB Bed , His workshop is HUGE

Then later went and played with Boysie's new sharpener , dinner and a beverage then bed , Boy was I tired as I missed a nights sleep Thursday night while traveling :?

Saturday , off to Glen Lucas for the day long turning demo , both guest turners were very good , evening spent with Boysie and his two companions , Claire and Felix

Sunday , up at 5.30 , leave at 6.30 for the return journey home

Arrived home at 3.30pm Sunday safe and sound

Its a whole new world out in Ireland , the part the Boysie39 lives in is beautiful with a view like this out of most windows

how can you not be impressed
and the noise , err hold on !!! what noise ? its total silence , no cars noise , No sirens , No taxi driver bibbing , No icecrean vans , No trains roaring the Dagenham station .
I had to go out in the garden several times just to listen to nothing , it was amazing :p

I would like to thank Boysie and Claire for the hospitality , The food , I was spoilt rotten

And I will return some time next year , hopefully for a week ? even If I stay in a B and B as putting up with me for 5 days may be a little to much for my kind hosts ?

I anyone has the opportunity to visit I can highly recommend you take up Boysie39 and Clair's offer

Lastly , I want to say a BIG Thanks to you both

It doesn't matter a jot HOW long you're in Éire for, it is never long enough.

As for the hospitality, there's nothing like it anywhere in the world. It's the only place I've been to where, on seeing someone for the first time they ask "when did you get home?" and when leaving they ask "when are you home again?".
It's not just my family over there that say that, people I don't know from Adam say the same. Even though it is practically "home" for me having spent so much time there as a kid and with about 75% of my close family over there it still says a lot to me when people call Ireland "home" for people they know are outsiders.

This thread is really tugging at my heart strings. I think I'm going to need to persuade my girlfriend to move to Ireland if we ever get hitched, because I don't think I'll be able to keep myself from going "home" forever.

Blister, you've got a problem now.
Once you breathe in Irish air you're infected. No matter how far away from Ireland you go, there's always going to be something pulling you back.

It's a good infection. :)

Blister, glad you had a trouble free home journey.

Clair and me were very pleased to have you and you are always welcome over here.

i'm glad you enjoyed your trip and it worked well with Glenn Lucas's workshop. Have nearly all my tools resharpened what a differance. Now I can get a more cleaner catch   .

The proedge is really very good and foolproof (I hope :D :D ).a serious piece of kit. REgards Boysie.

Loz, yes you are right, they are the Blackstairs with Mount Leinster being the large one. That is just the beggining of the range and is a lovely peacefull and relaxing view, Come down and see it sometime always a welcome REgards Boysie.
