8 x 4 board lifter

If you have the space and a level floor this looks another handy thing for dealing with sheets.

I've just lined my shed with 8'x4' 11mm OSB and none of those ideas would have helped me because I had to lugg them through the house and up the garden, so what I used was a speed clamp with the head reversed and I put it under the rough centre of the sheet with the handle towards my leg and lifted it with one hand whilst supporting it with the other.

I'm now permanently listing to one side but it was worth it.

That looks like MELAMINE FACED MDF? I was thinking about using it for a kitchen but went for MFC in the end. How do you find it in comparison?

I like it, machines & edge bands really well which I imagine is down to the more uniform substrate,down side is it’s heavier than MFC.

I'm not expecting it to last very long with the abuse I've been giving it with much heavier loads than the intended plasterboard, but I've moved many sheets of 18mm OSB and 18mm and 25mm plywood without breaking it yet. It makes a 25mm board really pretty easy to carry (magically seems to get lighter as your arm is lifting fully extended) - right arm lifting hand on that, top of board resting on right shoulder, and the left arm across the chest to steady the top edge and steering. A complete revelation as I was starting to get a little bit of dread about moving the 25mm stuff by hand as its awkward. Just the fact you can lift with your palm facing inwards gripping the handle rather than twisting it outwards to hold the underside of the board makes things so much more comfortable.

When it breaks I'll look to see if there is a metal version, or maybe make one, but at that price might just replace it.

I did see these listed at SF but they were out of stock at the time of looking and secondly I can't see me ever using it again so would have been £12.00 wasted imo.
I might try printing one on a 3D printer should I need one in the future.
