Hi, I just bought an American Cordless kit but the charger is 110v 50hz (no problem about the Voltage becasue I have a convertor) But I'm concern about the 10hz diference with UK? I read a few experices with people with corded tools (Unnoticeable underpower) but I can't find any info about cordless, any help is appreciated

I wouldn't think you'd have any problems as long as you use the inverter. It may be some components are optimised for 60 not 50 hz (e.g any transformer laminations), but if this is the case it would result in maybe a bit more transformer hum or slight increase in heat. The only time I've been aware of problems (some years ago) was with items that have a clock or timer that used the 'stability' of the hz as a reference.

Try it but keep a closer watch on it for the first few times.

Depends what the charger is like but it is likely to be a switched mode power supply so the transformer will be optimised for many 100's of hz so shouldn't be a problem. But it does depend on how it is built.

As oddsocks says keep a closer watch on it for the first few times.

In theory from the battery's view point no difference what so ever. DC is DC is DC but check the actual output voltage it may be a liitle high.

Hi,
I've been using a cordless porter cable circular saw for 2 years or so. It must have been charged at least 50-100 times from the yellow 110v site transformer and never had any issues with charger or batteries.
cheers,
jon.
