Still sorting some old hard drives I found this hammer I was able to restore.
It has suffered a lot in its life. As the burrs show.
Power tools and coffee had the faces good again.
Electrolysis used to remove the rust.
I then uysed a hard wood charcoal fire to harden the head, then a soft wood fire to temper it.
When it was spit bubbling hot it was dipped in clean oil.
New wedge.
The original shaft was saved as well.
