you can't turn your nose up at that. We all use biros and we all have pen sized scraps. I'm going to make one for the office when I eventually get my mucky hands on a lathe ;)

Hello all,

I have made many of these pens, and still use some of them daily, the ones I have not given away as presents. BUT, I used to buy the bic pens on boxes of fifty from staples.......the last lot I bought the inner would not come out without having to break open the pen outer, this often resulted in destroying the inner at the same time. So, either bic have changed their production methods or they are now gluing them in to stop people like me using them....................breathe ...............rant over, back to my bath chair!

The first time I saw this type of pen made was about 10 years ago at a club demo. It was Reg Slack demonstrating and he was also selling the long drill bit you need for the refill.

Then the Biro had the brass nib end and you just popped them out of the outer case. Now of course we have the ends made in plastic so I suppose this is why they are stuck in.

Still a novel way of making a cheap pen.
