Last year I purchased a second hand Hegner Multicut 2SV and while I find the cutting and quality great I didn’t like the way the blower pipe directed the dust towards the front of the machine (see first image).

I looked on the Hegner UK website and found an upgrade kit - but it’s quite expensive.

My solution was to use a flexible coolant pipe. Drilled out the valve to ~5mm to increase airflow. The inner diameter of the coupling is a push fit onto the Hegner blower metal pipe (see other images) The flexible pipe now blows the dust sideways.

Cost of upgrade: less than £6 (<10% of the Hegner UK parts)

I had similar issues with the dust blowing straight back onto my paunch, all sweaty from 35c! (too hot to wear a shirt)

Solution was a longer pipe from the blower down the other side of the arm (bolt holes for the hold-down) with some wire twisted around to maintain shape.
Works ok. Blows the dust away from the motor and switches side.
I did look locally for a pipe setup like yours, but at an eye watering price. The one machine supplier close by did not even know what I was talking about. Will look again later in the year.

I purchased the flexible pipe on eBay and the price I paid included shipping from overseas (~£6 = ~R138). DM me if you you’d like details when you look again at your setup.

Thanks, I will bear in mind.
Will first try locally.
Postage into this country is like a lottery.
I can track on Royal Mail to the airport and then it disappears into never-land.
The one parcel ex UK took 3 months and the second one 4 months to get here, posted within 2 weeks of each other.
Courier would be the way to go depending on final cost.
Current X-rate is 1 GBP : ZAR 23.11
