Someone asked me to share a photo of the spindle

All I know is that the chuck & insert came with the lathe when I bought it. Thanks for your input.

There is what looks like an L imprinted on the insert. Does this suggest that it's L/H or something else.

I did try filing it with a small triangular file, but it hasn't solved the problem.

I've just had a look at the lathe & you are correct , it is 1 1/4 × 8tpi. I don't know if the insert is the correct size as it came with the chuck. There doesn't appear to be any damage to the internal threads on the insert , but there is some damage to the spindle threads on the lathe.

I have a Nova DVR 3000 which was purchased new in 2003. I bought this second hand from a club member, who has sadly passed away. There is some minor thread damage & I wondered what the best course of action would be. I may be wrong , but I think it's M33 x 3.5 RH. Thanks in advance. Cheers Tony.

Yes the building does have disabled access. The 3 toilets in that block are not accessible to a disabled person though , there is a toilet on the ground floor for people with disabilities. The toilet in question is on the 1st floor. There is not enough money in the kitty to do any costly...

I believe they bought that cistern because it was cheaper.

It's just been fitted & the plumber has left it up to someone else to sort out the door. All of this work is done voluntarily and there is not much money available. It is in a local sports & social club.

It would still hit the toilet bowl.

The door does open inwards. It may be a problem opening outwards as people entering or exiting , have to walk past it.

Hi. I need some advice on refitting a toilet door. A new toilet has been fitted and now the door will not close. It looks good as though the door will have to move outwards on the casing by 60mm. I think then the hinges would be binding. I will try and post some photos. TIA

Hi all. I want to make a circular plywood hoop 40mm thick. This will be a couple of metres in diameter & made up in sections. I need to put a 50° bevel on the outside circumference. Any suggestions on how I can achieve this. Thanks Tony.
