    Sawstop demo and thoughts

Which Dewalt is it you have? I just swapped my Dewalt 7845 for the sawstop CTS. Safety features + bigger table & cut capacity were the sellers for me. Its a slightly lesser powered saw than my Dewalt all things considered, but barely noticeable. I saw Sawstop at the Harrogate Show and basically...

    Sawstop demo and thoughts

I can confirm you can switch the saw into standby (no spinning blade), touch the blade and see if the red light glows. It's handy to test if you're cutting wet wood or anything remotely conductive, wouldn't want to waste a brake+potentially a blade (they said 50% of the time the break messes up...

    Sawstop demo and thoughts

Will chime in as I was there too and ordered one (Compact) on the day. I thought the demo they did at the Harrogate show was great. I've wanted one of these for years though after following a few US youtube woodworkers who have them. For me the safety features justify the cost but I get that...

Looking to buy a replacement router for a UKJ lift without a NVR switch?

I've seen someone reference this in a previous thread IEC 62841-2-17:2017 Electric motor-operated hand-held tools, transportable tools and lawn and garden machinery - Safety - Part 2-17: Particular requirements for hand-held routers Usually have to buy access though so I haven't gone in to...

Looking to buy a replacement router for a UKJ lift without a NVR switch?

Ive also heard about the regs change meaning all new routers need an NVR. I also have the Axminster iron worktop and went for a Trend T14EK which has an NVR on a cable so it can be attached to the side of the table rather than fiddling around underneath. Would highly recommend. Its also got a...

Router Bit for French style Mouldings

Cheers for the support all. Ive had a good search for off the shelf mouldings online without much luck. There seems to be lots of more detailed options that I could potentially adapt, but nothing quite right. It amazes me it’s not a standard pattern given how common it is on furniture, and...

Router Bit for French style Mouldings

Thanks both, it seems like it’s a 2 cutter job. This would be for my half inch router in a pretty decent sized router table so i’m covered in that sense. I did find this which would work on a smaller scale https://www.axminstertools.com/axcaliber-edge-moulding-router-cutter-3-666196 Its just a...

Router Bit for French style Mouldings

Hi all, My wife and I bought some Cotswoldco "Chantilly" furniture (example below) a while back. I'm looking to make some matching furniture with similar moulding detailing so it's consistent with the Cotswoldco stuff. The top is just a piece of MDF with a chamfer on the bottom half. I'm more...
