    Panelling an old boiler room

Had to have a new exterior boiler installed this year leaving a 1.5mtr square room to be converted into a cloakroom/ storage room. The walls are a mess so need to panel but was unsure which way to go t&g solid wood or mdf. The room is unheated and windowless. Quite like the look of this...

    US Election November 5th

Can you elaborate on “land mostly bought by US” with some facts pls? Probably the same in every country with large corporate agribusiness so by that argument the UK should just roll over if invaded?

    THE FOURTH OF JULY

I think the various administrations have had the vision but ultimately not the people with the ability to implement the vision better than other countries. It’s a common and sadly regular failing in the administrative class that supposedly lead us. They think they are world leaders but evidence...

It may not last forever...

    Pergola Advice

Been tasked with replacing this 3.6m 47 x 150 joist. The sagging has occurred over 20 years ( not my work!) and I was considering attaching a metal bar to the inside face to add some strength along it’s length. Questions How long should that bar be on 3.6m span ? Is screwing it to the face...

    Sun damage to furniture

This is a piece of furniture my parents had made 20 years ago and as can be seen from the pictures it had suffered some sun damage. Is this repairable to the extent that the change in colour is less noticeable. It is American Black Walnut. Is it something a hobbyist could attempt or is it a...

Staying in a 14th Century cottage in Suffolk for the weekend and was intrigued by the markings on the beams. Anyone got any insights? Also the beam over the fireplace looks like it was reused, not sure from what, also anyone got any ideas?
