Bandsaws - best of the budget?

I had an Axi 1400B and quickly became frustrated by the throat size - just too small - and the settings for the blade bearings etc were really fiddly and hard to get right. Back in May I bought a Record BS 250 and the difference in quality, operability is like night and day - OK it's £300 (I...

    Ply lining recommendations.

My shed is part-lined with (I think 12mm) OSB which, when I did it, was cheaper than plywood - and I rather like the "texture" of OSB

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

I'm off out now for most of the day - please PM with a phone number and I'll give you a call when I get back - subject to sight (and cost!) it seems highly suitable. Rob

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Just some fun with some pallet wood - an art "installation" on our garden fence :) - - the bear joins a couple of other pallet works of art, a false door in the fence and a faux open window (open casement effect on a mirror)

    Beginner router kit

The problem with "sets" is that you'll get quite a few cutters that you'll never use - better to work out what you might need and buy individual ones [Tip: Trend has an ebay shop's that's usually cheaper than their online store]

    Ah - nope - drew a blank with them. ... not plug-free.

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

Was there supposed to be a link in your post? =========================== ... just to add to my comment - a number of suppliers listed B/BB plywood BUT when questioned said it had repair plugs - so that's not B/B - the grade description for B/BB is: B/BB: Single piece face and back veneer. Face...

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

Thanks for all the suggestions - it appears that when you get right down to it there isn't, currently, a supplier that I've tried (about 20) that has B/BB Birch long-grain with no repair plugs in 9 or 12mm. There are a couple of pseudo plywoods available like Artisan/Artizan but they are almost...

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

Plywood??!! - it's all melamine faced MDF or chipboard cabinets wherever I've seen kitchens made locally - and hardwood or pine doors

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

Hi James - still riding your bike? I'll give them a go but Hanson (and the other big outfits) seem unwilling to sell just the one sheet

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

Has to be long grain as it's a dining table top

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

Thanks - but it has to be Birch in its natural state to match two other pieces of furniture.

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

Thanks - I think that may be the same as or similar to Stretek ply which is OK but the colour isn't right - New World Timber that came up with a Google for Artisan is listing B/BB "clear face" so an enquiry is en route.

Drawn a blank on Lawcris & Ilkeston - both say they only have sheets with repair plugs - I need a completely/perfect surface as it's for a table top.

That looks promising - Thanks - and only just off the M1 - email enquiry is on its way. 🤞

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

I did . . . but I was being courteous and not judgemental in not saying anything! I have returned the drawing board in my quest for plywood . . . .

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

ebay is obviously just the "sales channel" for the underlying activity selling the van fit-out kits, dog guards and other stuff - there is no requirement for the ebay sales to be directly allocated to the business entity.

Sourcing Birch plywood - the good stuff!

I did all that earlier - but for small businesses Cos Hse data is pretty sketchy - still looks distinctly dubious - although between the two businesses they have ebay feedback of >7,000 ???
