LOTR (Lord Of The Rings) for those not in the know..... now this isn't some clever Tolkien reproduction, nor am I a lord.... lol, but I have made some wood rings, set on stainless steel for the non inlay, and titanium for the inlaid ones, the woods used are zebrano, walnut and two in oak burr...

So some weekends after dinner my wife, daughter and I spend the evening drinking and playing a game some of you may know called Rummikub. I decided it would be nice if we had a wooden version that incorporated a tabletop board, the tile holders and border etc and of course the tiles. So this is...

    Thought on AI

I have worked in Technology nearly all my life and whilst generally it has been advantageous I'm starting to see pitfalls, mainly as we go down a more automated/automation/generative AI route. I could start at the point where people are looking for employment and now CV's are autoscanned not...

Phil, These are Notus Kits from Beaufort Ink, you buy the pencil mechanism as an additional item, and in order for it to give a nice fit and ensure it all works smoothly you need to cut the spring so it fits the pencil mechanism as opposed to the included pen refill. HTH Padster

Woodworking & craft shows and events…

I have to admit I've been to Makers Central a couple of times, and decided it's not for me - there definitely wasn't enough woodworking, and the cost is so prohibitive for what you get - I didn't feel there was enough 'other' interesting stands and my wife and daughter didn't enjoy it either and...

Can't tell you anything about this wood - found it under one of my bench's and decided I wanted bruised fingers so turned it square and bashed my fingers a few times as usual, decided not to leave the edge totally square as I like the way the sides developed into nice almost semi-circles anyway...

So this is my 2nd attempt at CrushGrind Mills, I've gone for a more contemporary design, and believe using segmenting accentuates the design.... The two mills use the following woods (NO BROWN IVORY!!) : Pepper: Black Walnut, Jatoba & Beech Salt: Tulip, Beech & Cherry Padster
