RUTLANDS R15 Router Lift and Motor

I've not used this router & lift myself but I've seen a number of reviews & comments online about the bearings not lasting very long, also the company not being very easy to deal with in terms of repairs/replacements for it or much else they sell.

    Sovereign Citizens

Yes I've watched loads of the cop videos on YT pulling them over in their cars - never have licences or legal number plates, always say "travelling" instead of "driving", always say they have a right to travel... just baffling how they believe in such a ridiculous charade.

    Rutlands Warning!

Rag N Bone Brown on YT uploaded a video last week about a table saw of theirs and how the blade guard shattered when it unexpectedly contacted the spinning blade. He explained what Rutlands did about correcting it (will probably raise a lot of eyebrows), addressed briefly the "selective review...

eBay scrapping selling fees for private sellers

Long overdue IMO but possibly the bigger news is that ebay will introduce what they're calling a "buyer fee" early next year. https://news.sky.com/story/ebay-selling-fees-are-scrapped-to-boost-to-reselling-13225638

    H O Studley tool chest

Norm Abram made a tool chest on TNYW that was inspired by it, he gave an closeup look of the Studley chest and the contents about 2 minutes in:

    Router is extremely loud

I've got about 8 different brands of router but I couldn't rank any of them in terms of quietest to loudest. It's just the nature of the beast so getting some decent hearing protection is all you can really do.

Slot mortiser / poor man’s Festool domino

Looks very nice. Quick question: does using full extension drawers slides generate much play which could impact the accuracy?

    Learning woodwork from youtube

Seems like an all-too-common occurrence with a number of YT woodworking influencers and wannabe influencers - pretend to know what they're doing or talking about but really have no idea.

Anybody seen a gate bolt like this one?

So much wrong with that picture: wrong choice of padlock, the four screws on the bolt keep, the screws on the bolt itself... just a 🤦‍♂️ all round.

    A sad donation.

"Never forget all gave some, some gave all." Eight words I wish more people in this me-me-me world would take notice of and appreciate.

    Extractor for DW733 thicknesser

Some years ago I used a SIP 01923 extractor with my EB DH330 thicknesser and it had no problems collecting the chips.

Why are router usually lifts so expensive?

I can only speak from my own experiences but router lifts I found to be one of those workshop aids that once you have one you wonder how you managed to get by without it. I don't use the term "gamechanger" very much anymore but having one was definitely that.

Is this just another scam attempt

A p*ss-poor delivery company would never wish anyone a great day so it's definitely a scam.

    Labelling system

I bought the same Dymo label printer that Sachakins linked but second hand for that very purpose. No PC required, print labels as I need them, and much neater than my scruffy handwriting.
