Pocket hole screws. Length vs drill position...

No problem. And yes, I plan to make a little jig for it with a quick clamp as that current one is poop!..

Pocket hole screws are too large for 15mm ply?

Having just enlightened myself to pocket hole screws recently I can add this; - There does seem to be a very fine tolerance between screw length and material thickness, especially in thinner materials. - In thinner materials one can use PAN HEAD screws instead of the regular washer headed...

Finishing a hardwood ply router table

Thanks mate. Have done a few searches and found some formica only in wider sizes. Still trying to confirm the glue on melamine options if I can get the widths as most just sell edge banding up to 50mm...

Best 6" Random Orbital Sander or should I get a forced rotation (geared) Sander?

I apologise in advance! I have the Rotex amongst a couple other festool sanders and honestly it's brilliant - have never enjoyed sanding as much, though I am more often taking wood / finishes from proper rough to super smooth. Don't have the ETS I'm afraid but do have the DTS which is great...

Pocket hole screws. Length vs drill position...

No worries. Like I said, I can work it out. Just wasn't sure what the norm was - but then there are many different kits about!.. Which is probably why there is no definite answer (y)

Pocket hole screws. Length vs drill position...

Reading the link Trend are using a 3mm spacer on the jig base to set the drill bit height. That would still be very close indeed with 18mm board and 32mm screws. I think that as you said; if the shoulder part of the drill bit is just sticking clear of the jig the that would give enough...

Finishing a hardwood ply router table

This sounds suitable I'd say. Do you have a link at all where you purchased from? If not I'll do a search later... ( Currently trying to avoid paperwork but must get back to it.... Aaarrgghhhh)

Pocket hole screws. Length vs drill position...

Afternoon folks, I got given a small pocket hole screw jig - looks like the Chinese one Dennis (Hooked on Wood) has tried and found useful... The unit came with a few pics but no set up info of course. Now I'm fairly good with maths and am using 18mm Ply in this instance. The drill bit that...

Finishing a hardwood ply router table

Thanks James, Certainly looks to have the right spec. Had a chat with sales and the only issue it would seem is that folk have had problems bonding it ( probably incorrectly mind) but for me the issue is they only do pooh brown! I should probably get over it as the ply wood is basically brown...

    Cast iron bench table saw?

Hehe.. If you've purchased Festool before then I'm sure you'll get over the price!. And bare in mind that you could sell it if you wished after the house works and lose £200 max most probably so think of it as cheap renting for now!.. Just looked up the weights again - it was FFX that were...

    Makita router lift

Good moaning folks! So, to be fair to AFFF, it is quite tricky to find a regular mild steel bolt with a hex head in long lengths here in the UK. I can only assume we're over them!! :ROFLMAO: Plenty of regular head bolts and machine screws... I would suggest that if you get no higher than an...

    Cast iron bench table saw?

Yes, it can get a bit complicated working out whose specs are correct. They often involve some accessories just to make things more unclear.. I had thought the TKS was nearer 50kg? 48kg iirc?. No matter what, if you are unhappy for some reason with the CS70 then festool dealers will always...

Finishing a hardwood ply router table

Thanks Bob. Can't stand hardboard and it is generally unreliable - it would also mess up my heights etc - so a no go there. I had thought about epoxy, but figured I didn't want to bother with the mess, but then I guess it's not that much harder to do than other paint finishes.. I suspect that...

    Cast iron bench table saw?

Yeah I like the look of the TKS.. To be honest I had never looked at the CS versions and that pull feature - certainly useful if one doesn't have the sliding table. Lovely bit of kit - just don't tell the missus the price!..

Finishing a hardwood ply router table

Hey up folks, Getting there with this router table of mine.. Was going to use regular green Moisture resistant mdf but when I rushed down to the builders just before Christmas they were clean out so purchased some generic hardwood ply, not ideal but hey ho.. So I'd like to put some sort of...
