    spindle moulder mod

That's the case in the ideal world but my Felder spindle doubles as router table at 15000 rpm and I will happily put any size cutter in it. Just slow your feed speed with the smaller cutters.

    Oak and ply patio table

It could probably be done if you used Epoxy. As Mike says you would normally have all sorts of problems with differential movement between the wood and the ply. If you glued it all together with epoxy and then sealed it with epoxy it would be unaffected by humidity. The epoxy wouldn't be cheap...

Taking a plunge to kitchen cabinet making

I take your points but birch ply does not really blow like chip. Also some houses are just wet with condensation on exterior walls. Striped out a kitchen recently and the units had blown and there was no obvious explantation beyond condensation. Ply will expand if wetted but once the problem is...

Are pipe clamps a thing in the UK?

Thanks. Not a problem getting 6m lengths as I am buying metals from time to time. Do you paint the steel or treat it anyway?

Taking a plunge to kitchen cabinet making

My gripe with MFC in the past is not the facings but the chipboard core. Over time water gets in and the chipboard swells causing havoc. Are the latest ones using a waterproof chipboard?

Are pipe clamps a thing in the UK?

How does box steel compare do a decent length of wood? A few off mine the wood is getting a bit iffy after years of abuse so could do with some new bars of some sort.

Any roofing experts here? Can I please pick your brains....

If you are not committed to re roofing I can recommend an unorthodox way to fix the leaks. Got lots of old corrugated buildings here on the farm and just this summer have been patching a roof that is flatter than that. What I have found works is some stuff called Denzo tape. Funny messy stuff...

    Bluetooth tools whatever next!

Had a flat tyre on the tractor yesterday. Went to have a chat with the chap next door who lives and breaths tractors. We got it all propped up to take off the offending wheel and he says I will be back in a min. I dug out the socket set and a large breaker bar to start removing the wheel nuts...

    Glue Storage

Yes that might work I guess. Pretty sure the PU I have says to store above 5c though but might give it a go as not doing much work these days so going off glue is more of an issue.

    Glue Storage

Surly the glue pots are moisture proof so the low humidity of the environment shouldn't play a part? Maybe the keeping it cool helps in another way?

External door panel held in with beads?

Idigbo is the mosts stable wood I have ever used. Made several front doors with it that are exposed to our Dartmoor rain and they have all been trouble free. Small amounts of expansion and shrinkage and almost no twisting. Worst thing about it is it can be a bit brittle and not the hardest of...

    Glue with long open time.

My favorite PU Balcotan was not far off that. had an open time of 30-45mins but touch dry in a few hours. Normally left it 6 hours to play it safe though. Cant get that brand any more and not found any other PU quite as good. The rapid version gave you 10 mins but was dry in an hour. Great thing...

    Glue with long open time.

It's my understanding that PU's are sort of two pack in that the moisture in the wood or the air is the catalyst to make them set. Yes it tends to not last long in the bottle once open but can be improved greatly buy leaving the opened bottle upside down (cap on). When you squeeze out glue, air...

    Glue with long open time.

    Walnut Table Top Finishing Advice

The instruction on the Liberon oil are pretty good. So you put it on generously and keep working it in. Think they advise to wipe of excess after 10 mins. This is where I deviate from the instructions. I will keep working it in for as long as it takes until it just starts to thicken ie dry. At...

    kity 613 bandsaw help please

It's the guides on YOUR 613. It seems to me that Kity have changed the design at some stage and many of us have had the previous version with wooden guides. Whats your explanation?

    Spindle Moulder as Jointer?

Give it a go. Makes a world of difference not just because of the stability but having plenty of fence in beside the outfeed table means you hold it firmly further forwards in the cut. Hope that makes sense.

    Spindle Moulder as Jointer?

Maybe a better fence would help? Even on my Felder if you start feeding gert big planks through on edge things get a bit wobbly as the fence is supported at the end of the planer bed instead of behind the cutter block due to being a universal. I fixed up a means to fix the fence just behind the...
