    Sketchup and CNC

Yes Dave, although I wouldn't know how to create those shapes accurately in sketchup either

    Sketchup and CNC

have you got any write ups of this Dave?

    Sketchup and CNC

I thought that sketchup curves were just a series of lines rather than "true" curves? How would you get over that?

    Sketchup and CNC

Sketchup is not an ideal platform for use with CNC. I find it brilliant for creating 3D visualisations of projects but I dont use it for creating CNC output. I assume that you are thinking of using a 2D/2.5D flat bed CNC for cutting out parts from panel stock? You are better off looking at...

    Rutlands Quangsheng

In a roundabout way, that was my point, i can't believe that there is that much difference between the quality of the planes - Dakota or WH.

If you don't ask then presumably you get one of the ones that need most fettling? Looks like a good deal to me if they are as good as people say. I might just get a no.4 to try them out.

book on how to make windows?

This is the book that I turn too: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Puprpose-Made-J ... 094&sr=1-1 It's a bit "dry", but it's an excellent resource.

    Filling a gap

Basically, timber moves with climate/humidity changes (think about a door that works fine in the summer but swells up and binds in the winter). When it moves, it moves perpendicularly to the grain. Most wooden worktops that you see will be fixed in one place (the back) an allowed to move at the...

    Filling a gap

Just a quick question - are these solid timber boards, and is the grain running from the front to the back of the units? If that is the case you might run into some problems with timber movement and might want to reveiw your plan.

Is Holly Any Good For Woodworking?

I don't think that many cabinet makers dry their own timber, so i'll pass on your bet thanks.

Blister has a few questions , and something to ask

not at all, if Blister just does the decnt thing and puts his items up for sale on ebay, the problem disappears - no rule bending, no "no comments please", no unhappy campers

Blister has a few questions , and something to ask

I don't have any problem with for sale threads, on a non commercial basis. Blister, despite having another job (which isn't really relevant), seems to be selling items for profit, rather than just offloading unwanted items and the rules are quite clear: ( 8.1 ) Any advertisements or...

    Delta Bobbin sander SOLD

I think the problem, Blister, is that it appears that your continual posting of for sale items are not the normal turnover of tools that a hobby woodworker would have. Your prices are never bargains, often more expensive than equivalent ebay listings. By doing this you are appearing to act as...
