Record TS200C Table Saw - Set up and Review - Long+Pictures

I have increased the size of the pictures and added an extra one showing the stop on the underneath of the sliding carriage. Update; I use Photobucket for my photos, the larger ones you see in the post now were uploaded as "Large 640 x 480" size. I emailed Record at 10.30 this morning to tell...

Record TS200C Table Saw - Set up and Review - Long+Pictures

Tom, You are welcome to come along and have a play, let me know when you are planning a visit to Essex (I am close to Basildon). For me the non standard mitre slot is not an issue, I don't envision using the slot for anything other than mounting the supplied mitre gauge. I don't think I will...

Record TS200C Table Saw - Set up and Review - Long+Pictures

Rob, Thanks for the info, what you are suggesting sounds feasible with the Record. I want to build a cabinet base for it to sit on because, although the supplied stand is very good, the space underneath is wasted. It would be relatively easy to include a hopper of some sort in the top of the...

Record TS200C Table Saw - Set up and Review - Long+Pictures

HOW I CAME TO BUY A TABLE SAW As a hobby woodworker I started off working in my garage, fired by enthusiasm and Norm Abraham’s NY Workshop, my first machine was a Tyzack 10” table saw which was adequate but the top was quite small, the mitre gauge was a bit loose in the slot and the rip fence...

Sam, Your welcome, glad I was able to help. Martin.

    Festool (CTL22) Vac Acccessories

Sam, I had a quick look last night. The Draper rigid floor nozzle fits directly onto the Festool 36mm hose nozzle ok, it is a tight fit and won't fall off, so this is ok. However, the Draper metal tubes have a much more gentle taper than the Draper Accessories, they will fit onto the Festool...

    Festool (CTL22) Vac Acccessories

From memory I think I have the 36mm metal tubes, will have a look (probably tomorrow night) and post the result. Martin.

    Festool (CTL22) Vac Acccessories

Sam, My old extractor is a Draper, which came with some of these accessories, I also have a Festool CT33 which has the same fittings as the CTL22. Are there any accessories in particular you are interested in, if you let me know I can check if I have them and if they fit the CT33. Martin.

So , Who got what at Ally Pally ??????????????????

Yes, there is a considerable price difference and I did have to think about it, but I just know that when I came to cut a piece of timber thicker than 60mm (although this probably won't be very often) and found I couldn't it would really niggle. I know I could get round it but it would still...

Tablesaw: Axminster TS200 or Bosch GTS10

Mike, I have also been looking for a small table saw. I like the Axminster and it has had good comments from other forum members, but I do feel the 200mm blade is a bit limiting so I decided to look for a 250mm bladed saw. I have looked at the Bosch and equivalent Makita saws, they are both...

So , Who got what at Ally Pally ??????????????????

Tom, Thanks for your concern, I have researched extensively and I am aware yourself and another forum member don't think much of it, however I had a really good look at it at the exhibition and saw it in action as the students from one of the challenges was using it to cut some 65mm softwood...

    SOLD: Jet Supersaw + Extras

Tom, I mix flat and round woodworking and enjoy both but, as others have mentioned, I also found I was running out of homes for the bowls/pens etc I made. However, I am fortunate that I live right next to an area of public forest which is managed by a Ranger. I got to know him and he is always...

Work Sharp The Wood Tool Sharpener WS3000 model

Brian, Have you tried freehand sharpening turning or carving tools underneath the wheel yet? If so, how did you get on. Also how much mess does it make, does it collect in one place or get all over the place? Regards - Martin.

Setting up a new shop and rust....

Kevin, Welcome to the forum. I have an all wooden workshop 6m x 2.5m, with a suspended wooden floor. The walls and ceiling are insulated and covered with thin ply. I have a small dehumidifier which I empty once a week and have never had any problems with rust at all. Martin.
