The CL4 is a decent lathe Paul but has a max capacity over the bed of 12" I think after a quick google. That would mean you would be turning at an angle to the bed to cope with the extra diameter, which is possible but not ideal. It would also test the motor power too which is fine for most...

Had the same with sealant on our two upstairs showers, it only needs a surprisingly small gap to open up for a power shower to create a noticeable problem ! If there's nothing visibly wrong with the sealant, maybe tape and bin bags or similar over the sealant and run the shower for a while with...

I make some leather knife sheaths and other bits and pieces from time to time and the following suppliers will be able to help you out I expect. Probably best to call them and explain what you are after as there are all sorts of different tanning treatments and qualities and thicknesses of hides...

I live in Hampshire on the chalk downs and the water is as hard as anywhere in the country but still get decent lather with brush and most products, I suspect you just need to use more of the product each time ? Having said that you might find creams quicker and easier to lather than the hard...

Yep, a sheet or two of mdf would be my choice, maybe the moisture resistant variety if you can get it as it may be better quality than the cheap stuff from the sheds, but that may be overkill. You could also have a top layer of thin ply laid on top so that it's easier and cheaper still to...
