    Hegner from germany

Sounds like a really good deal. As for metal cutting blades I would visit Mikes workshop, he has a good selection of metal cutting blades and will give advice on what you need.

    Hegner Blade Clamps

Chris and Bryan. You are both right. I think a bright yellow clamp will be easily located. I may even conect a piece of string from the clamp to an anchor point with plenty of slack. It is simply amazing how they disapeare into thin air when they come out sometimes despite a thorough search. I...

    Hegner Blade Clamps

I will have to succumb Martin and make one of those boxes. You are right, it will save a lot of time searching under the bench and the many nooks and crannies. Its amazing really. I meant to have asked Hegner when I was on the phone if the clamps develop wings as they fall.

    Hegner Blade Clamps

Its sods law. There I was talking about clamps when this morning I had a blade break. The clamp flew out of the lower arm onto the floor. I searched and searched but like the last one it just seemed to vanish into thin air. I got my little box of Hegner bits out and there was just one 0.5 clamp...

    Hegner Blade Clamps

Hailsham is in Sussex, not Kent. I also have had converstaions with Roger, very nice guy. I use the 0.5 clamps and use these on all the blades I use, which are 7s, 5s and 3s. I have never had a problem and still using the same clamps that came with the machine, although I ordered spares some...

    Bits and Pieces

Over many years I have used several scroll saws and when the excalibur came on the market I bought the 21. In truth it was the worst saw I have ever worked on. BVlade changing was a nightmare as you cannot see the blade as it goes into the clamps. After a month I had a knocking noise. I stripped...

    Noise reduction

Thanks guys for you replies. The flats were built around 1960 and concrtete and black build. I have been and seen some neigghbours today and they tell me they can hear people above/below when they have the hoover pout. I will hpowever leave the router on and pop upstairs to see what it sounds...

    Noise reduction

I have been offered a ground floor flat that has been specially adapted for a disabled person and will be perfect for me. However. The second bedroom would have to be my small workshop. I am seeing it for the first time tomorrow and will ask the neighbours and the one above if they can here...

Advice on Record Power SS16V Scroll Saw 16-inch

When you get intoscroll sawing it is just not the scroll saw you need but a whole list of othher things, a belt.disc sander is very handy as is a hand held sander. A drill press is a must really and if you really get i to it a router table. You will need a good liaght for the scroll saw and a...

    Do you really need one

Like many others I use a bar stool. I went a long way to a store that sold a variety and selected one with a back rest, a foot support and was adjustable, it is absolutely brilliant and very comfortable, can sit for hours at a time if need be but I do stop every hour to make a cuppa.

    New Hegner Advice

Me again Chas. I think what you need to do is sit down and have a think of what things you want to make on the scroll saw, there are many aspects of scroll sawing. Full speed on the Hegner is not all that fast, for me that is, everything I make is made from 3/4 inch hardwood and with a top speed...

    New Hegner Advice

Hi Chas. You will see a huge difference between your Rexon saw and a Hegner and when you use the Hegner you will see why they are so much more expensive than other scroll saws. My personal view is that the Hegners are vastly over priced and I would not be surprised if the UK dealership is making...

    Scroll saw - frustrations

Hi Lee. Scroll sawing can be a bit frustrating, as you have found out. There are many things to take on board when people start to scroll saw. Firstly your saw is not the best in the world. Its made in the far east and record have just put their label on it, all there machines come like this now...

    Any ideas

Many thanks Jimijimi, an excellent recipe. I shall print that off and pin it to the workshop notice board.

    Saw performed well

When I got my Hegner I was surprised at how small the table was. With the things I make there is a lot of overhang. I also get chatter and this is caused by one of two things, one is when the wood is not quite flat and the second is when making tight turns and the blade is trying to catch up on...

    Hegner Accessories

Hi Ben. You have made the best choice with regards to your saw and the blades. FD blades are by far the best. As far as clamps go I use the 0.5 clamps. These take number 3, 5 and seven blades without any problems and I have used these for years. As Steve has said, the quick release clamp knob...

    New Ideas........ Conclusion

Many thanks Steve. I have never been able to get my head into gear trying to post pics. I have no problem on the American forum. I think it may be the fact I have an i mac, which is not compatible with several window applications. Chris. You are a genius, I never even thought of using a hair...

    freezing

My workshop is my spare bedroom so I have central heating, double glazing, even curtains on the windows. Coffee on the hour every hour, lovely and warm, can scroll for hours without even thinking about it. Nice to be snug and warm when looking out of the window and watching the snow come down...

    New Ideas........ Conclusion

I finished my little project with two small cut outs that needed to be filled in bright red, to look like blood. I shall be posting the finished item on my facebook page by lunchtime. Wooden Crafts from Wales. I was wondering though. What I did on the second one was to filled the back with tight...
