    Besseeey

Actually I think there is no comparison. I have returned 3 uniklamps when the threads have started to fail but they are basically a pretty average F clamp in Bessey colours and Bessey price diffrential - you can get clamps like these for a lot less money. The K bodies are in my opinion...

    kitchen fitting help

David Have you seen the job? Its all too easy for people to say 'its only simple' and then turn up to find that they haven't thought to tell you about x, y and z. £270 isn't a lot of money for worktops and I'm not sure that £600 is so huge (a bit steep maybe) but is there tiling implications...

    White worktops

Thanks David - I'll get on to them tomorrow. Gav - I'll try IE - I'm in Firefox at the mo. Cheers Tim

    Understairs cabinets

Thanks for the kind words guys. The reason is because of the bottom of that newel post. If the spacer wasn't there then the right hand door would hit it on opening. If the door was hinged the other way, it wouldn't be able to open fully and would also come perilously close to the ceiling...

    White worktops

Thanks Gav - no I hadn't got that far really - can't help think that they will be a lot more expensive through them than going to the larger sheet material suppliers. It doesn't need to be lab standard ie its used for dishing out pills, not making them. BTW - can't access that site - or its...

    White worktops

I'm going to be adding a large new section to a doctor's dispensary around Easter. Because its part of an existing setup, I need to match the materials as closely as possible. This presents no problem except that I need to put in a couple of lengths of white worksurface. Total length is c...

    Understairs cabinets

Recently finished these understairs cabinets. The stairwell is actually in the sitting room so it had to look nice. Cabinets are made from 18mm Birch Ply finished with Barford's Aquacote, Facing timber is tulipwood painted with a Dulux Trade Eggshell (Tuscan Treasures 5 if anyone cares!)...

I've found that it does sweeten the deal somewhat! :D :D but some folk do have appalling taste. Cheers Tim

    Which panel saw???

Thats my only gripe with it as well. Its very difficult (esp with the longer rails) to get the square cut that is so simple on Panel saws. There is too much human error factor here which does affect speed of operation. That said for someone working alone, its great to get one super clean edge...

    hard wood?

I'd probably opt for maple. Sycamore maybe cheaper but its difficult to get veneered panels in sycamore. The poplar I have used for a project recently has had very dark green and purple streaks through it. Cheers Tim

Dust extractor comparison - is the Festool worth the money?

David Festool Uk say that the hose can be stored inside the body - is that complete rubbish then? Cheers Tim

Dust extractor comparison - is the Festool worth the money?

Neil, thats what I thought about the storage - Festool UK (or whatever the agents are now called) says it does - but I don't actually believe them (if you had had the phonecall you'd understand my scepticism). Also re sound levels, found this link to make comparisons...
