Swapping phone book from mobile to mobile

My wife has a new phone and needs to swap her address book from one to the other The old one is Nokia and the new one is Sony. Is there a piece of software available (obviously free!!) that allows this process to be automated. We have the Nokia Pc suite thats fine for talking to Nokias...

    sketchup 6 slower?

Thanks Adam. I tried through the Nvidia website and did download newer drivers but I'm not sure how much its changed - maybe the computer is getting a bit tired? Cheers Tim

    Damn you ParcelFARCE!

I think a lot of the time it depends on the individuals. I have at least four deliveries a week, often from different companies but over the last couple of years have got to know the regular guys - one of them minicabs for us as well in the evenings! They know where to leave things and are all...

    Chest on Stand, fisrt impressions.....update

Seems fair enough - I could immediately see an image of someone's back though ie spine crease and shoulder blades which is why I suggested the other way. Either way it'll look fine Cheers Tim

    Chest on Stand, fisrt impressions.....update

I like the overall look and you seem to have taken some real care over it - bet you can't wait to put some finish on it. Two constructive points if I may: 1. I know they won't be seen much but I would put the back panels in the other way up. 2. Probably a personal thing but I think the legs...

    Table runners

Dom For what its worth I would reckon that each of the table ends on my Ipe table weighs in excess of 40kg and I haven't seen any deflection even at full (beyond what the leaf requires) extension. I also find that there is no significant lateral movement either. Cheers Tim

    London congestion zone

I have a pal who lives right on the edge of the new zone. He's not bothered by it (resident's rights etc) but his neighbour is furious because she doesn't drive and they've whacked up all the bus fares as well. We drove up to London the other weekend in our gas guzzling Disco because First...

    Table runners

Dom I think they are pretty good. I've used them on a table that I built out of Ipe (left over decking) which is VERY heavy. After 4 years its still going strong and to put in the leaf the runners need to be at near maximum extension. HTH. How's the shop going? Cheers Tim

    Cutting Programme?

I use Cutlist all the time. I bought it about 4 years ago when starting out to help with costing jobs. I find it invaluable particularly since materials can change markedly from one job to the next and I have (annoyingly) limited storage space so keeping extras can become a pain. I have found...

    Tea or Coffee?

Two cups of coffee in the morning - made by coffee fiend wife and then mainly water for the rest of the day (about 8-10 pints generally - I'm a good boy on water drinking). Only tea I like is Earl Grey and rarely make my own. Cheers Tim

    File management/ husbandry

I was looking for a file on my pc today - a jpg file of a piece of my funiture and when the search was complete it showed the file existed in 5 different folders across two drives. I'm not so surprised by this since I often copy things over if I'm working on a particular project or want to only...

Triton, Trend T11 or Router Lift

Andy I'm curious (and I s'pose not a little disappointed) that you haven't engaged in this debate given that Trend's flagship router is under serious (and not always positive) discussion. I don't think the mods would mind or see it as advertising. Rob Lee from Lee Valley regularly discusses...

    SketchUp Doors

Very useful Dave - thank you. Can I ask a question related to 'a whole kitchen full of doors'? I like the idea of using components but so often there will be three doors out of twenty that are the same size but the others will all be different or graduated sized drawers etc. However the...

    tv stand WIP

Looks great. Looks like you've got some nice figure on the top but i can't see a photo without the TV on. Well done for stopping when the mistakes pile up. I have a rule that if I make two mistakes in a day I stop for at least half a day because it means my mind's not on the job and the next...

Triton, Trend T11 or Router Lift

I agree with you that for hand use its fine except that I found that the brass nut on the depth adjuster vibrated round in use which meant that sometimes the cutter wouldn't fully retract after plunging. Have you noticed that at all? Cheers Tim

Triton, Trend T11 or Router Lift

Mike I have had the T11 (3 of them) now gone back and been refunded. I ahve subsequently bought the big Triton although not used it yet. To reduce repetition see these previous posts: https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=117043#117043...
