Trend Competition Entry - completed coffee table

Very nice, Alf - I fear I may now have motivational difficulties getting my router table entry finished by the end of Jan! Neil

    Festool OF1400 Info

I don't own one, but I've had a go of one belonging to another forum member. Pure quality :D - its now on my wish-list for hand-held use, as it is a pain taking my Makita 3612C out of the table. The depth stop, ratchet on the collet nut, dust extraction, fence, self-centring guide bushes...

Trend Competition Entry - work in progress; LONG

I thought it was a bit uncharacteristic for you. Nice typo, though - they don't often work out like that  Noely, I think this is the second time Alf's called me Noel - she's really entering into the Christmas spirit, isn't she? :deer NeilCFD

Trend Competition Entry - work in progress; LONG

Very, very nice work Alf, and a great WIP report too. I'm now feeling very embarrased that I submitted my router table  Maybe there will be points off for spelling mistakes though :P  NeilCFD [clutching at straws here, and hoping Alf doesn't check my entry for spelling  ]

Great stuff, Tim - let us know what you think of it :) NeilCFD

    Belt sander advice please

I think the frames are worth it, especially if you are doing delicate stuff such as the finishing of your ripple sycamore. The other bits & pieces (inversion stands etc.) look useful to me too, provided that is that you don't already have a dedicated sanding station. The one I like the look of...

    Belt sander advice please

Hi Tim, This review may be of some help, although it is a bit on the old side (April 2000) so the DW you're interested in isn't included. It has some info on 3" vs 4". The current GWW magazine has a review of 3inch models, the DeWally DW433 and the Bosch GBS 75AE got best on test. The DW433...

TREND T5 Competition router table - progress report (long..)

Wulf, I finally remembered to check this last night - with 6kg of router hung off the insert, it isn't crowned at all - in fact, if anything it is a tiny, tiny smidge the other way. Maybe it is optimised for 5kg routers  NeilCFD

    Literary Woodworker

He must be Tony's separated-at-birth twin, Alf - Tony would never say that his favourite plane was a Record  I was very upset to read that there are second hand tool stalls on Gloucester Green market - all those years living in Oxford, and I never knew! NeilCFD

Delta 25 piece sanding drum set

It may well do, Andy. I try not to put much pressure on the drum sander because of this, and I haven't had any noticably increased runout. NeilCFD

In order of most used (not that there are many choices  ) #7 #077A Bullnose #405 ... thats it for now  102 block & a good smoother (LA maybe?) are on the wishlist. Interested that you use your #7 for smoothing, Adam - food for thought... maybe I don't need a smoother after all...

TREND T5 Competition router table - progress report (long..)

Thanks, Roy & CYC :D Philly, looking forward to seeing the pics... Steve & Tim, I think you're probably right about the debris being the most important factor - I must admit I'm pretty careful about vacuuming the router vents after use, which hopefully will prevent any problems. One...

TREND T5 Competition router table - progress report (long..)

Quite agree, Chris - the requirement for 20" of table behind the bit for a fence with 12.5" of travel does make one think that a bit of 'space optimisation' wouldn't go amiss. Dick, your simple wheel arrangement sounds good, especially for heavy stuff. Mike, I remember that Philly put the...
