    Tite-mark rival from Rutlands

Ah yes - I think you're right. It says 'Made in Canada' in the Axminster blurb. Quite a good price, then, considering the dollar price of $15.75 in your review. Cheers, Neil

    Tite-mark rival from Rutlands

Looks like Axminster will be debuting their own Tite-Mark copy in the new catalogue next month: Worth a look for £19.99 perhaps? Also something that looks very similar to the Veritas 3-in-1 gauge: Only £9.95 for this one. Cheers, Neil

Fetool Ts55 EBQ - First Impression Review

Thats excellent - much better than the 'real' manual. Thanks, Darren :) Enjoy your new saw, BB :) Cheers, Neil

    Painted kitchen

Fantastic, Tim - the walnut worktops work really well with the colour of the units. Cheers, Neil

    Dust Extractor?

Me too, and it copes fine connected directly to my 2012NB, although I have no idea (yet) if it would be enough for a small plumbed-in system. You'll need one of these (code 510072) if you go for the 2012NB as its dust hood has a 3" outlet. Cheers, Neil

Sketchup components refuse to cut opening

Sorry, Chris - I should have mentioned how I do the actual intersection. I've had problems intersecting complex shapes, but on the whole Sketchup does seem to be pretty good at it - certainly a lot better than the geometry kernel I have to use for my own software at work! Cheers, Neil

    Random Orbital Sander Problem

Looks like its time for one of these, then, WiZeR? Cheers, Neil

Sketchup components refuse to cut opening

Hi Chris, Are you exploding the base unit component first? I can do the intersection then. The geometry definition of the base unit is a little strange with the surfaces having no thickness :-k Cheers, Neil

    Forstner or Auger drills

Hi Brian, I would recommend this lip & spur set as a good option, especially with it being on offer at the moment. Cheers, Neil

    Felder-schmelder

It doesn't really make any difference even if you only have one means of distribution, as long as there is more than one salesperson. A few months ago I missed out on an ex-display Jet bandsaw from the Axminster clearance list - whilst I was on the 'phone with Axminster exports sorting out...

Becoming a "Grumpy old man" but......

I'm guessing you bought these ones as I've had exactly the same experience! Cheers, Neil

    Unreasonable expectations??

Why do most P/Ts have aluminium fences, even the ones at this budget (and beyond - don't the Rojeks have them too?). It seems bizarre to me when even very low-end dedicated planers have cast iron fences. Would a cast-iron fence be too heavy to remove on a regular basis when converting to...

Good decision, Ewan - let us know how you get on with it :D Cheers, Neil

    Triton MOF001 1400W Router

Great review, Ray - to be honest when I first heard about this router I wasn't at all tempted by it, but now that you have described the new features I must admit it looks a great router for the money. A couple of questions if you don't mind: - are the template guides metric or imperial? - You...

    planers...

Hi Ewan, The Axminster is only £45 more at the moment... Also wouldn't the Axminster be free delivery, whereas the Fox is another £20? Re: the machines themselves, they look very similar. At first I thought the Fox had the US-style blade guard (as shown in the picture) but it appears from...

    Shock early arrival!

Many congratulations, Gidon (and to SWMBO too) =D> I can't believe how quickly they grow up - there I was for the first few months saying I can't wait for our little one to start walking and talking, and now we have reached the toddler stage I find myself lamenting the fact that our little...

How accurate should a SCMS be?

My vintage isn't, anyway. Doesn't jump off the table, though! Cheers, Neil

How accurate should a SCMS be?

Hi Matthew, I've had the LS1040 for 5 or 6 years now. Couldn't recommend it highly enough (as long as you take the limited capacities into account) - accuracy was spot-on when I got it and it has stayed accurate since then, despite doing a lot of work over the years! Good price now, too - it...

    How'd I Do It?

Damn! Found out! Not sure about the tie you were wearing that day, Dave - a bit bright, wasn't it? :-s  Cheers, Neil
