    Folding table

It's an interesting idea. I only wonder whether you could've designed it so that the legs fold-away with the table top, instead of having to remove them and store elsewhere? Of course, it may not work, depending on the dimensions of your top... The length of the top would have to be at least...

    Kitchen refit - WIP

Looks good, Mike. You must have some workshop to be able to dry-fit a kitchen like that!  How have you jointed the drawer boxes?

To Festool or not to Festool !

Did you see Henning's post in this forum, the other day? It looks as though some of Metabo's new saws still have those space-wasters sticking out the back... :P On the other hand though, they also claim to have 'cracked' dust extraction with their latest designs. I actually wish that more...

    Removing a Drill Press Bearing?

Thanks again, Bob. :) I'll go with the standard Z-section belt for now, as I do intend to sell it once I've finished and, yes, I do have a replacement lined up! 8) I'll also order a new spacer from Machine Mart - I hope others have learned and will learn from reading this thread... :roll...

    Pineapple jewellery box

Exquisite work, as always, Mark. :) Yes, Flickr seem to have changed things around recently - you know have to right-click an image, select a size, wait for the page to reload and then right-click it to get your Image URL. Then, go back and repeat for each photo! :x :P It's very frustrating...

    Removing a Drill Press Bearing?

My new bearings arrived this morning although, it's a little too early to tell whether or not they've made the difference as I've managed to break something else... ](*,) I don't know what the correct name for this 'assembly' is but, it's a spacer that sits between two bearings (which I...

    New Metabo SCMS

Thanks for the heads-up. :) The one with the induction motor does look interesting and, as far a I can recall, it's cutting capacities are greater than any previous saws with induction motors. What makes the extraction so much more efficient?

    Removing a Drill Press Bearing?

Thanks, Bob. :) I've been and stripped most of it apart this morning (and my hands are black to prove it!). It definitely seems as though at least one of the bearings above the chuck is causing the problem. Even after removing it, I can turn it by hand and it sounds as rough as heck...

    Removing a Drill Press Bearing?

Thanks for your replies. :) My long-term aim is to sell this one, actually, and replace with a model that will actually sit comfortably on a 900mm bench top - this one's too tall (unless you're 7'6"...) yet, it's too short to be classed as floor-standing! It currently sits on its own...

Home made circular saw guide track

...Well, it was only a matter of time, wasn't it!! ;-) Now, that's one purchase that no-one can fault you for! :D I've been eyeing up the Makita plunge saw for a while but, I'd love to be able to spend that bit extra on a Festool... Was it full-price or did you get another bargain?

    Removing a Drill Press Bearing?

Hi guys, For a long time, I've suspected that the bearing just above the chuck in my Clarke pillar drill may be shot. It rattles a bit while it's running and it only started doing this about a year after I bought it (...I think I've had it for four-years, now!). It doesn't seem to...

King Bed Build - Not nearly enough photos for a WIP!

Sounds like a good price for a bed. Are those "big bolts" any different to coach bolts? Could you not have made the nut recesses longer, so that you could get a ratchet/socket spanner in there, over the end of the nut? Like this: Or, you could have chopped out a recess for a hex-headed...

Home made circular saw guide track

A great idea! :) Thanks also to Paul for the link to those fret clamps - I reckon they might also be compatible with the other guide rails (Festool, Makita, DeWalt, etc.). One would have to check but, they look to be a lot cheaper than buying the manufacturer's own brand.

    Sleeve a Festool hose

Very nice. I really like the sleeve idea. You can of course by clamps and cable clips to do a similar thing but, you really need several of them to compete with this idea, or else either the cable or lead will still manage to get in the way. :)

Projects so far, new to forum

Welcome to the forum, Justin. :) Some rather impressive stuff. I particularly like the bandsawn box. You can always go back and edit one of your posts at any time - you're only missing the [/img] tags from the end of each line.

The only risk there is what damage his dreadlocks would do to the tooling!! :D

First Project - Rustic Chest WIP

Very interesting. It's certainly got character and it works quite well. :) Are those circular marks from a saw blade or from your sander? Or... Is that the grain in the wood???
