    Trend MFT jig

I'm pretty sure it was my fault. I can't remember exactly what I did but if I used an edge rather than the holes already made that could have been the cause.

    pre mixed lime mortar ?

2.5 would only be needed with very friable stone or brick, 3.5 is the most common. As youare using it in small amounts around a window I am sure you will be fine. Use a pointing gun if you have one, damp down the stone before application, a small spray bottle like bath or kitchen cleaner is...

No, apart from anything else I'm in Italy.

    pre mixed lime mortar ?

Speak to Masons Mortar in Scotland. I would not use hot lime or putty lime mortar, (fat lime), especialy at this time of year. It would need to be monitored for days or even weeks, keeping off the wind, sun and cold, usualy using damp hessian. If you buy premixed hydraulic mortar it can...

Thanks, I've never seen a piece of Zebrano that big.

    Wood ID, sorry

I called into my sheet supplier and was told they were to close at the end of the year. At the far end of the warehouse, where I'd never been before, were a number of wood boards standing on end. It turns out they are the ends of logs that have been turned into veneers. 3 or 4m long, up to...

    Renovating a Dining Table

Last time I looked most of us used plates. Leave it alone. It's all part of its history.

Bandsaw question, what does this gauge represent?

In my 12 years in Italy I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of replies I have had to an email. Telephone still rules here, and fax.

Bandsaw question, what does this gauge represent?

If you have a model number I can see if I can get a manual. Italy not really very up to date in the digital world.

    Krenov planes

I have Fincks book, carl stammerjohn on YT is also very useful. I'm in the middle of making one at the moment. If you are patient the hock blade sets come up on ebay at more reasonable prices.

Bandsaw question, what does this gauge represent?

My small Hammer has blade widths on the indicator but it is pretty much meaningless. It's all part of learning to set the saw up for effortless drift free cuts.

    Nova or Record?

I have seen a good offer on a TEKNATOOL NOVA G3 "PRO-TEK". It is slightly more expensive than the SC3 but jaws are possibly easier to find here than Record. Is there any reason to still go for the SC3? will it offer greater choice than the Teknatool. I won't necessarily buy it, I may not need it...

Will I need 2 chucks? Large and small.

I'd be buying online, and while the prices are already much higher than in the UK, they are fairly heavily discounted. I think I'll try to buy the extras from the UK, especially eBay.

Will I need 2 chucks? Large and small.

The 2 Italian stores you show are the main ones I have been looking at. There is also the RP importer but they tend to be more expensive. I was looking at the SC2 so thanks for the info on the SC3. It isn't impossible to buy from the UK. One well-known company that won't send less than £150 of...

Will I need 2 chucks? Large and small.

I have the book. I find watching videos more useful. There are no clubs in Italy I have been told this morning by an Italian turning association, no lists of stores or events.
