I make my own doors and have made them for friends too. I don't know about the UK but it isn't easy or quick. What is wrong with the original doors? It is hard to believe they could be worse than doors made with construction grade timber.

As far as I am aware the vendor has to put the tariff code on the invoice so I dont think you need worry about that. If it were me I would find out who the shipping company is and ask them for a breakdown of costs involved.

For the occasional cut I just use the crosscut blade in my mitre saw.

I couldn't find a brand indicated for the router bits but the spindle moulder tooling is Freud.
