    Sywell visit

I was there on Saturday selling my excess Triton kit and a few other pieces - I sold 80% of what I took - about 20% after I had packed up( due to some rain and most leaving for the football) and I had gone to help on the Triton stand and also demonstrating my mini cyclone. People just came up to...

    DADO ADVICE

The crosscut sled would be of no use to me doing trenches or rebates of 600mm to 800mm or more

    DADO ADVICE

Philly I want to put you on the spot - you are a user of a Dado head cutter in your saw - what are you doing about safety and what are your experiences with kickbacks and near misses with your fingers?? You have more experience than most with the dado cutter so your comments would be valuable to...

Will an Incra mitre gauge work with the Triton Workcentre

The incra mitre gauge will not work as the Triton uses a different slot in the table. I have always wanted to test the Festool saw in the Triton but have not had anybody with one close by. The Festool is 1400W whereas the Triton is 2200W and I worry if the Festool would have the power as at...

    DADO ADVICE

Some of the problems are 1. You are cutting a dado for 18mm Mdf or ply and using the 18mm cutter the fit is lose so you use a 1/2 cutter to do the job. To do a good cut you don't cut the 9mm debate in a single cut so you start at say a 4mm cut and then 9mm and then move the cutter to achieve...

    Router

The Triton has the grunt and is ideal used in a router table. Its not ideal for hand held use as it weights about 7kgs

    DADO ADVICE

I cut all my dados with a router but it is far more time consuming when compared to Norm doing it with a dado cutter. I find running them through the router table I get better results doing it twice. If the guru Scrit came up with a safe way of using a dado cutter I would be very tempted to...

    Who's going to Sywell?

Terry I totally disagree - the site is much freer than ours - the answers you get don't get the moderators in the mix like ours Their site works does ours?????

    Who's going to Sywell?

I am at a total lost for words The Australian woodworking site is thriving with a population of about 1/3 to 1/2 of ours. The number of groups is about 6 times as many as ours and the moderators let you get away with much more and I have never heard them say anything about keeping the forum...

GWW - Is it just me missing the lack of projects?

May be this is also true of me - I moved on to ShopNotes and 'Norm' who has cost me loads of money investing in more tools that I have to have and are under utilised. I subscribe to ShopNotes and was fortunate to be given a number of back issues that are a constant reference point and ideal to...

    Who's going to Sywell?

I am going mainly to sell my excess Triton gear on the car boot sale. Last year there were only about 6 people selling. I am told they are selling off their handheld power tools as they are getting out of Dewalt and some other ranges. Their flyer shows demonstartions by Scheppach,SIP,Delta Jet...

Irwin laser guide for mitre saws

I only got round to removing the excess on the blade guard close to the arbour that was touching the laser guide. In the end I had to remove about 5mm to make sure that it did not touch. What a difference with the laser- a must - a total time saver.

Extracting Dust Out Of The Workshop

You might be able to get away with it on a big property but neighbours would complain. Its best to have it seperated from the workshop as very few filters filterout the bad dust (less than 2mipcron)
