    Hobbler, There seems to be something odd about your pictures, they don't display for me in Firefox or IE :( On looking at the files, they have a .jpg extension but in fact contain a .gif picture which is confusing the forum software, not sure how this has happen or if there is a quick...

    Some of the sheds have racks of metal in different cross sections, you may be lucky and find something you could use there. :-k

    Forstner or Sawtooth?

    I maybe wrong but I thought that the saw tooth was better when drilling end grain? :-k I have a few of the cheap carbide tipped forstner type bits, they work really well when drilling hard wood, I have not tried them on end grain. :-s

    Fitting rasp blade

    Mike, The way I was taught to fit file handles during my apprenticeship was with a blow lamp. There should be an undersized hole in the handle that the end of the tang will fit into. Heat the tang with the blow lamp, the tang should be soft so you are not changing the hardness by doing this...

    Hi Marlon, Welcome to the forum. :D I don't have an answer to your problem, but another question, what you you standing on the test finishes that is leaving the marks? Maybe you need to add a mat under it if it is very heavy with small feet?

    Its a bit like having a bath, the effects don't last as long as you would like! :whistle: I suggest you try this, every time you stand at the cabinet polishing those planes, clean your glasses when you have finished, should be able to see much clearer. :wink:

    Well I am, just came in to check email, I have the day off the treadmill. :D Making a few presents must get them finished soon. :roll: I need to get the network reconnected to the shop, then you could watch on the web cam again, lots of coffee being drunk. :roll: :lol:
