    Any advice for finishing this chair?

    Yes pens can be made from acrylic, but don't normal have any finish applied, apart from may be renascence wax, turners polish the acrylic with finer and finer abrasive, to get a high gloss finish. The wax helps to stop finger prints.

    Steve, I have the Axminster, bought for me some years ago, nice rule, easy to read and the heads are cast iron, very pleased with it.

    Repeatable turning - now with pictures!

    Hi Aidan, I would not try for them being all exact copies, just very similar, that shows they are hand turned. :D Not mass produced on a cnc machine along with 1000's of others. #-o Toms idea is good, cut the profile you want in cardboard and mark the transitions on your work to guide yourself.
