    Elm Bowl

Tom, I have turned a couple of bits of elm, one of my favourite woods, so far. Is that its true colour, the stuff I have is much browner? The shape is good and if I had spent that much on a hollowing tool I would be using it on everything I turned.

spalted beech and Bubinga lidded form

Mark, I like this one more than the one with the textured lid, not sure why but it just hits the spot for me. Thinking about the bead size, how about making them graduated, getting larger as the diameter increases? :-k

Hi Mark, Welcome to the forum. :D Well the Maxi is an odd beast I don't know how to adjust the tables, there have been tales of woe from some owners but others have found the machine a useful bit of kit. Hopefully someone will turn up who knows how to set the thing up. :-k

    Air Filters....again

That looks like it should work, might be a bit louder than a bigger fan as it must rev faster to move the volume of air. You could extend the housing to act as a silencer if it is too loud.

    Dust extractor woes

Does the blower have a finger guard on the inlet? There was one on the chip collector I bought, it worked OK for dust and small shavings but when wide boards were planed, producing long shavings it clogged. Two minute job with the tin snips to remove it solved the problem.
