    Xcalibur/Harvey set up

A few things to note if you have the same model with ST. I may have noted them above, but perhaps in a disjointed way. The front and back rails can be mounted in two positions. If you mount in the "intended" position, you will need to cut off about 12" from the left side to fit the ST. If you...

    Xcalibur/Harvey set up

From this picture That certainly looks to be the case. It does seem a shame that one can't extend the table... however you'd possibly need to build extra support legs, and the fence doesn't go that far anyway.

    Xcalibur/Harvey set up

Hi. I am very happy. The sliding table is fine, it's really just the manual that could use work. The crown guard is not as nice as the one pictured on the website. I also notice that blade changing is a knuckle bruising experience. The spanner to hold the spindle has a nice kink in it. The...

WIP first kitchen. Hob/Oven Installation Question

The instruction manual for hob says to remove the transverse element for ventilation. Is it normal to remove the front stretcher (if this is what the manual means), as then the worktop is not supported and must take the weight of the hob. It's only 56 cm but still... Sent from my GT-I9100...

Another reason to stay away from F&C

Don't want to leave on negative note, so just want to add that I think this runs against the grain (stop! ) of a fantastic community. Just look at the support Steve got for his build. It makes one feel good about our species for a little while... Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Another reason to stay away from F&C

I don't agree about the promoting of rivals. If f&c say "we're very sad to hear one of our woodwork publishing community was in a terrible accident, and although it's not one hundred percent in line with policy we're going to help out by distributing the show guide" They would look good and...

    Laminate saw blade

Hi Richard. I think I wrote somewhere that the festool blade was brand new. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

So no other comment on fc regarding Nick Gibbs email? I think it's a bit disgusting personally... Fish and chips on the other hand are not! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

    Laminate saw blade

Thanks. It all looks fine in terms of parallel fence and I get with new festool blade in track saw too. I am only taking 1mm with router so not too heavy on blade. I made a jig to get from the other side an exact dimension without having to measure it exactly. Seems to work well. Sent from...

Ah, well, I can't get that here anyway... and now you've made me hungry!

Another reason to stay away from F&C

Another reason not to go back to F&C I see... I dropped them for budgetary reasons whilst house building, however the attitude and immaturity we're hearing about means it's unlikely I'll want to go back to them anytime soon... And they could have come out smelling of roses!

    Laminate saw blade

Although in that case you cut one side partially and then right through. There is no cutting from both sides. In terms of quality, I thought the Axminster Trade series was supposed to be, ahem, a cut above the bog standard ranges... I looked at cutting solutions, however their delivery...

    Laminate saw blade

Well, it is a brand new blade...but could be it needs sharpening. The double sided cut is an idea although I'd worry they don't line up exactly. For cabinets I think they need to. Perhaps a very light scoring cut. Odd that it's better on the bottom. Could be the zero clearance is just that...

    Laminate saw blade

I am cutting 19mm laminate with a zero clearance insert, and getting worse results that with my general purpose blade. They are both axcaliber blades and new. On the top cut you can see laminate blade on left and general on right. The bottom/underneath is better. Here is general purpose...

Router table - what am I doing wrong?

Clockwise on internal cut and anti for external cut when using hand held. Therefore the opposite when the router is upside down. Just need to remember to do the opposite, and it all makes sense.

I don't think this is big enough for spraying, and I have an earlex once I get the hang of it. This will mainly be for brad guns and dusting. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

    True or false - compressors

So I found a warning underneath the tank (good pace to put it) which points to the under tank valve as being where to drain. It suggests I tip the tank however it seems to right at the bottom so not sure why necessary. Ideally I would turn it on once a week, let it fill. Turn off and use to...
