Hi, 3 out of 10 for a biesmeyer!! You must be hard to please. If you can afford a Biesmeyer T square, then you can afford the full length auxilary fence for it to stop the kickback!!. cheers, jon.

Excalibur 805 sliding table sits high

The Jet supersaw that has the sliding table comes supplied with two peices of shim steel to set the unit slightly above the main table, although it is possible to set it dead level. It does also say in the manual that the S/T should be set above the main. cheers, jon.

Any sources for 2nd hand woodworking machinery??

I'm selling the JET because every time I start a new project, I end up making it during my dinner hour at work on their machines. I work in a joinery shop where space and choice of machines is better. The saw is literally brand new and I cannot find a mark on it. cheers, jon.

    FOR SALE - Jet Supersaw

Jet supersaw, cast iron tablesaw for sale. I've had the saw from new and it must have been used no more than half a dozen times. It is the fixed left wing version so all of the usual NYW jigs and gauges can be used with it. The saw is in better condition than when it was new without a doubt. It...

Veritas Surface Clamp - a review

If anyone can remember having a push bike and used to service or dismantle it, the clamping mechanism has been taken from the headset stem on some pushbikes which use exactly the same thing. jon.

    DX 4000 extractor advice wanted.

Andy, i'm assuming you want the portability along with the capacity that a 5000 offers because even though the 4000 can take 80litres it is no where near enough when attatched to the thicknesser, I can fill it in 10 mins when planing a 12 inch board. cheers, jon.

    DX 4000 extractor advice wanted.

Thanks for your reply Russell I suspected it was the same. On starting the extractor then, does the waste sack shrink and the cage prevents it from collapsing on it's self ? cheers jon.

    Axminster WV2000P

At work, we have a six bag HVLP extractor unit which measures about 20 feet long by 10feet high and is powered by 7 1/2 horse power motor. The ducting is 12 inch from this running down to 10 then 6 inch on the machinery outlets. The suction that it creates is scary and will even suck spanners...

    Axminster WV2000P

Using a hose dia. less than 4 inch for any chippings producing machine is without doubt a no no. It's obviously going to get blocked and is the reason why theese type of machines have the 4 inch outlet. Even a 4 inch pipe can be too small sometimes, especially in an industrial situation on...

    Axminster WV2000P

I think that the extractor you are talking about is a fine dust one as opposed to an induction motor run chippings extractor, in which case there will be no problem reducing the diameter down to 2 1/2 inch. I have a record DX 4000 which is the same sort of thing and can use 100mm right down to...

    DX 4000 extractor advice wanted.

Thanks for your reply Jason. I have the 4000 which is exactly as you describe exept it has two motor filters and a cloth bag for increased filtering. The DX 5000 looks the same as mine with the bottom cut off the drum and a wire basket covered with a waste sack, but i've never seen inside one...

    DX 4000 extractor advice wanted.

Hi, can anyone help me by explaning what the insides of the record power DX 5000 fine dust extractor is like. I'm wanting to know if it's possible to cut the bottom off my 4000, fit a wire mesh cage and cover with a waste sack to end up with essentially a DX 5000 which will have more capacity...
