    16 amp help wanted!!

After the recent sale of a Jet supersaw, I had both the space and spare cash burning a hole so when the opportunity of a Delta Unisaw for a good price arose, I couldn't refuse it but the problem is I can run the saw with a 13 amp plug on it but the fuse blows after a couple of minutes. I know...

    'k body' style clamps

I have a lot of the Gross Stabil cast iron bodied that look like the bessey but in my opinion a much more robust and better clamp. Bessey are good clamps but somewhat overpriced for what is essentially mainly plastic. cheers, jon.

    Self adhesive tape measure

I know that Biesemeyer supply them in many variations but again, only in the States. I could however, buy both a metric and imperial and stick them one above the other, I was wanting one about 3/4inch wide anyway, so the two of them at 12mm wide each would give me a metric and imperial an inch...

    Self adhesive tape measure

Thanks for the reply Gidon. Rutlands and Ax. both supply the tapes but in the vinyl material not metal. The workshop essentials site has the metal tapes but only in metric (I think) cheers, jonathan.

    Self adhesive tape measure

Hello, Can anyone point me in the right direction for a supplier of self adhesive measuring scale. I'm wanting a left to right reading one, about 3/4inch wide and the main thing a metal one. I can get one from the states but wanted to know if a supplier of these is over here first. cheers...

    How to crosscut thick timber?

Hello, Iwould have thought that a modern bow saw with the aggressive tooth pattern would cut this with no problem. You should get relatively straight cuts with it after a little practice. cheers, jonathan.

    sip table saw problem

Hi, I'm almost certain that this problem is basically caused by the free play in the threaded bar of the rise and fall mechanism. I dont have this saw but my first saw which was a Kity 419 did exactly the same and the problem was solved by very lightly lubricating the area where the arbor...

    The employment question

Hello, I have the experiences of being a furniture and cabinet making carpenter initially then moved out of that into bench joinery and doing this whilst being a dedicated home woodworker. I had to go to the joinery side of work as furniture/cabinet making was becoming ever more difficult to...

£3K budget, what would you do??

Hi, If he's looking for any tools, I have Jet supersaw and a Dewalt DW733 thicknesser for sale, both absolutely immaculate and harly used, he could do a lot worse than giving me £625 for both of them. cheers, jon.

£3K budget, what would you do??

Hi, Build it himself. The posh sheds that you can pay up to £5000 for are very flimsy. That's what i'd do anyway. jon.

    Fence upgrades

Hi, A woodworking machine can be as dangerous or safe as the person using it. Many aftermarket parts or attachments have both pros and cons but the basic underlying responsibility has to lay with the user. You could use your tablesaw with no riving knife fitted and never use push sticks and not...

    Fence upgrades

Hi, They must be doing something right, It has to be america's best selling aftermarket fence and they have a lot to choose from. I think like you say, the one thing to do to avoid a tablesaw accident is to keep the knife fitted or your asking for trouble. jon.
