    re-sharpening saw blades

Cellulose thinners is pretty good for getting rid of organic build up - evapourates very quickly as well so no worries about leaving any behing on the blade or with it rusting.

    Rebates on small pieces

Tish pshaw! Using a table saw will have the frames stained a nice festive red all in in the same process. :D

    joining wood

Go to your local Ikea, they usually have a bargain croner, in there they usually have bucket fulls of fittings. My local one is £1 for a mixed bag full, go along and help yourself!

    Dovetail Jig

I've long since found that B&Q are either more expensive the local specialists or their products are of lower quality. The reason I keep finding myself going in these is that I can get pretty much everything for a project in one go rather than spending the day going round lots of places, and...

Help me before the sparks start to fly...

I'm not condoning the following, but it is worth pointing out that the new wire colourings (brown and blue from red and black) came out before Part P came in to force. You therefore can't tell from the look of the wires if it was installed before or after the new regs. Assuming that you didn't...

Been very happy with mine, and it does have an adjustable depth stop on it!

Price to fit an external door?

You can have a go at mine if you like, old house, not a square joint in the frame - bloody nightmare and now the damn thing has swollen and is sticking.

    Chopping boards.

I'm guessing these are old boards that have split over time? Probably along the old joint lines? Not sure filling is the way to go. I'd be tempted to separate the boards along the splits, joint the edges and re-glue, possibly with biscuits or similar.

    Believe the instrument

Don't get me started on that! Our house is all out of level and square, quite significantly for the most part. I put pictures up, using the spirit level and the first the SWMBO says is "that's not level". My response is "it is level, it's the house that isn't" but she won't have it, so we...

Planning the interior of your workshop????

I'm starting to plan my layout. I have a 3mx3m extension on my garage which acts as the main workshop, but this connects on to the main 5m x 5m garage to give me more room if I need it. I'm planning a Norm style mitre station along one wall, but one section in it will be a router table on...

    Blood out of a stone

With electronic forms in these situtions I usually put a false address (god help the poor sod that does live a 1 acacia road :D ) or put the companies head office / registered address in. I have my own domain so I can put anything before the @ that I like, I always use the company name that...

    A free door

If nobody on here takes it, have a look at www.freecycle.org, somebody on there would snap it up in no time I'm sure.

    trestle?

Do you mean old fasioned saw horses? Norm made some for a table saw project last week! That may be a starting point.

I would like to buy a SCMS

Quite a big beastie - but this has earnt its bacon over the last 18 months rennovating the house. Upgraded the blade and it's been a dream for handling 9" skirting boards.

    Fitted Wardrobes

I bought a Pax carcass from Ikea with the solid antique stained pine doors. Built a stud frame round it with 2x4, plasterboarded it and skimed, worked a treat. Are you looking to do somethining similar or are you having to custom make to fit a given space?

    Sliding door rails

I did ponder on this or just some kind of a curtain and I may well go this way still. Any idea on suppliers?

    Sliding door rails

That looks like the kind of thing, what I had seen was the sort of partitioning used in offices which was running to over £1000.
