That hinge looks like the work of a class A bodger as well, why not set it all up so they run on to the rails rather than having to block them up? This was my effort at a garden gate and it's holding up well

Assuming your fence is on the right of the blade, the 0 on the tape wants to be on the rightmost part of the blade

I tend to put my first finger on each hand on the underside of the glass, either side of the score and my thumbs on the top and just flex my hands apart which is enough to do the job. If you're really nervous, a long dowel or similar on a table with the score over the top and then press down...

I have an Elektra Beckum planer / thicknesser. It takes about 40 seconds to switch between modes and works very well in either. It is 10" but there are times when even larger would be nice, mainly for thicknessing.

No, the grooves are for extension tables. Still undecided on the fence approach, my current table has 2 insert nuts in the table top and the fence has slots so the top is uncluttered. I may go for 1/2" t track yet, still pondering. Yes I'll move the large t track from my current table to...

Exactly that, the SCMS will be removed when when using it as a router table. Space is at a premium in my shop so things have to double up.

Well, about time to start another workshop project, a combined Router table and SCMS station. Design to date Plan is to have some extension tables that store in the bottom slot, still working out how best to mount them when they are in use.

Indeed, suddenly anything imported is now very expensive. Building myself a new server a bit at a time and each month I come to buy the next set of bits and they've all gone up from the previous month.

Another one I have considered, the main issue is that I want to minimise the space taken up when packed away. This is the arrangement I have at the moment, with the SCMS on a sliding shelf. I want to raise the height to the same as the work benches to either side so I can use it comfortably...

This may be a long shot, but there were kitchen tables around in the 60's/70's that had fold down leaves. Nothing very flash, formica covered ply if I recall. The bit of interest was that when you pulled the leaf up it automatically locked in to place. I think you had to then release a catch...

Well that's food for thought, my only concern is the lack of warranty etc.
